SongChute Studio

Teach music from your phone.

Build a lesson in a minute: pick the songs, paste your YouTube link, write the homework. Your students open it on their own phone, tablet or laptop. Your materials and your name stay yours.

Free for up to 5 students and unlimited lessons. Students never need a paid account.

Lessons in a minute

Name the lesson, choose the student, search for songs, done. Made to be built on a phone between students.

Drop in your videos

Paste an unlisted YouTube or Vimeo link. The student watches it inside their lesson, signed in. Your video stays on your own channel.

Homework that sticks

Write what to practise. Students see it with the songs and chords, right where they study.

Chords, lyrics, sheet music

Every song opens in Study mode with the chords, key and capo. Add sheet music PDFs for the student who reads notation.

Play along live

Present a song and your student follows on their screen, swipe for swipe. Great for online lessons.

Progress notes

Keep private notes on each student, and share the ones you want them to see.

Your materials stay protected

  • Lessons, videos, homework and notes sit behind a login. Only the students you enrol can see them.
  • A student sees only their own lessons and the ones you share with the whole studio, never other students.
  • Your public teacher profile is optional and off by default. Nothing about you is listed unless you choose it.
  • Remove a student and their access ends right away.

Videos are links to your own YouTube or Vimeo. An unlisted link can be passed on by whoever holds it, so for the tightest control use Vimeo's domain restriction.

Find new students

List yourself in the SongChute teacher directory with a photo, what you teach, your city and a short bio. Signed-in members can find you and send a request, and you accept or decline. SongChute takes no cut of your lesson fees. You agree rates and payment directly with your students.

Ready when you are
